Highlight or selection color

How does one change the current selection color away from that pale blue
color when one clicks on a message? I can hardly see it (getting old) and my
searches for a solution have revealed nothing.

That paint brush thing on the tool bar doesn't do anything useful in this
regard.

I am using WLM on Vista Home Premium X64.

Thank you.

Re: Highlight or selection color

I don't know how to do it in Vista, but in XP it's governed by the
Selected items setting at Display properties > Appearance >
Advanced. You can probably work it out from that.

Re: Highlight or selection color

For those who are interested, the equivalent Vista path is quite
non-obvious: right-click on the desktop, Personalize, Windows Color
and Appearance, "Open classic appearance properties...", Advanced;
under Item choose "Selected Items", pick a color.

Re: Highlight or selection color

At least in newsgroups, that option(with Windows Aero as the primary color scheme) changed the selection color of the menu bar
items, but not the pale blue message color of a selected messaged.

Re: Highlight or selection color

XP does warn that unless you use the Classic set of buttons and
windows settings, any changes you make to them will be overridden.
It doesn't hold water, though, and altering the Selected items
colour works with a vengeance.

Re: Highlight or selection color

You're right. Nothing in Vista seems to affect that highlighting
color of selected messages and selected folders.

Re: Highlight or selection color

Nothing in XP seems to affect the highlighting colour of selected
folders, unfortunately. That's why I have the window maximized so I
can see which folder is selected.
