Windows Live Mail fails to start

I have a relatively new Vista PC that I have transferred my home computing
to from another XP system. It has Media Center and a quad processor.

I used Outlook Express on XP. After trying Windows Mail the offer of
Windows Live Mail somehow popped up and it seemed to be closer to my Outlook
Express usage so I opted for WLM.

I normally do not logoff but lock the session. I unlocked my session today
and tried starting WLM several times. Each time the little circle
circulated for a few seconds and nothing started. There are no messages in
the system or application event logs.

I logged off and back on and WLM then started. What can be done to fix this
problem?

WLM sometimes turns into a "zombie", i.e. it stays in memory when you close it.
If you try to start WLM it won't come up until you kill the process via Task
Manager (look for "wlmail.exe").

Thanks for the advice. Not a very friendly feature, that is, for the faint
of heart. Let's hope it gets fixed soon.

Re: Windows Live Mail fails to start

I've not heard of that before. I regularly lock my pc and when I login again
I have no problems with it.
Are you running Vista 64 or 32?
