Deleted emails disappear

I noticed that, when I delete a message in my IMAP inbox folder, it is...
gone. No trace of it in the "Deleted items" folder, either on the server or
the local one in the "Storage Folders". Any ideas as to why ??

I find that if I close the mail program and reopen it the deleted folder
reappears. Strange but then so are a lot of things with this program.

It's not the folder that disappears, it's all the deleted messages that
should be placed in that folder.

Do you have "Use the 'Deleted items' folder for IMAP accounts"
selected at [Tools >] Options > Advanced? Have a look at Tools >
Accounts > [account] > Properties > IMAP as well. Do the folder
names tally? Is "Check for new messages in all folders" selected?

Sounds like you are purging it instead of deleting it?
What exactly are you doing? Turn on troubleshooting logging
for IMAP. What does it show that is happening?

The answer is yes to all questions. Still, no deleted messages appear in
relevant folder.

I am simply deleting the message ("delete" button in the toolbar). I did turn
on the IMAP troubleshooting, but where is the log file located ??
