Default account for sending emails

I see that in Windows Live Mail is possible to set a default account for
sending emails but if an account is selected in the side menu the email will
be sent with that account and not with default one. This way is easy to send
emails with wrong account. Would be usefull and option that (if activated)
force the account to be always the default one.

thank you

Roberto

Re: Default account for sending emails

To me it seems logical that the email is sent from the account
that you are currently working with. I highly doubt that the developers
would consider changing this behavior. Before clicking Send, one
should always double-check the 'From' account displayed in the upper
right corner of the compose window.

Re: Default account for sending emails

Start a new message using the default account.
Save the message to the desktop.
Use the saved message to start a new email.

What is easy is checking which account is listed when composing the message.
The From column is always shown.

I like the feature. I know that when I am working in an account, new emails
will be from that account.

yes this can help, thanks

yes it's always shown but (IMHO) it's easy to do a mistake. I say it because
it's happened many times to me to send a work email using my personal
account that i prefere to keep private.

i wasn't asking to change the current behavior but to add an option "use
always default account for new emails sent". If this option is not selected
(default) the email will be sent with the currently selected account.

Re: Default account for sending emails

Couldn't agree more with you Roberto. I'm regularly sending emails by
mistake from my wife's address and vice versa even though I'm set as
default. Perhaps if the account send selection was more central to view that
would help?

Re: Default account for sending emails

If both are using the same Windows profile, consider separate Windows accounts each with its own unique email account.

Re: Default account for sending emails

An account being the default only means that if you send email from another
program, the default account will be used.
Forget that there is a default account.

Re: Default account for sending emails

Also, if you are viewing a newsgroup message and click on Reply,
it will use the default email account. Not that I would ever do that.

Re: Default account for sending emails

If your focus is on a storage folder in WLM, the default account is also
used for new messages.
