| Guest | Help - Transfer Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail I have couple of questions about transfer to Windows Live Mail - 1. For PC#1. - I have my mail account and couple of Hotmail accounts on OE. As I loaded WLM, it has transferred everything from OE to WLM, including the 'Message Rules' for Mail. I was surprised but happy. 2. For PC#2. - Similar to PC#1 my mail account and couple of Hotmail accounts were active on OE. As I loaded WLM, it did not transfer anything except one Hotmail account. Took me sometime to load the individual accounts and the news groups, but the 'Message Rules' for Mail need to be re-constructed one at a time. Question - Is there any simple way to transfer message rules from Outlook Express to WLM ? Appreciate help and comments. |

| Guest | Re: Help - Transfer Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail As far as I can tell, the only time WLM imports messages rules is on a fresh install when it imports everything from OE. Sounds like it started to do that and ran into a problem. The rules are stored in the registry for each and appear similar. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Rules HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Rules I did notice some version fields that have different values between OE and WLM. And there may be other differences. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "User66" <user66@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:C4E06E66-5315-41CB-8BF5-FBF594AA45C2@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Help - Transfer Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail Thank you for the info. I have gone through OE rule transfer through the registry. I was under the impression that WLM will update the process. Apparently no update on that. Thank you again. "Michael Santovec" <michael_santovec@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:en4rFSewIHA.1240@xxxxxx
