Sent emails

Have noticed lately that with the odd exception most of my sent emails are
not being saved. Could that have something to do with getting a lot of
yellow shapes with ! in the middle appearing on the bottom left of a page?

Also wanted to send some pictures to a lot of friends so hit on the Cc & Bcc
symbol so how do I get rid of them till I want to use again. Thanks in
advance.

Re: Sent emails

1) If you click on the yellow triangle, you should get an error message
explaining the problem.

2) While in the message composition window, click on View and then Show
All Headers to uncheck. The CC and BCC headers will be removed.

Re: Sent emails

Thanks Michael, got rid of the extra headers. Much better without them.

No yellow triangles today but my sent emails still not being saved & has
been the same for about 10 days now. I have been told the triangles may be
something to do with my server not email & may be a coincidence it happened
about the same time.

Re: Sent emails

If the yellow triangles show in the WLM windows, that means that
something went wrong on the recent send/receive to the mail/news server.

For your sent mails, is the problem with a POP3, IMAP or HTTP
(Hotmail/MSN) server? If unsure look at Tools, Accounts, Mail,
Properties, Servers.

Select the Sent Items folder then View, Current View and make sure that
you are not hiding read messages. Also make sure that Group Messages By
Conversation is not checked.

Note that you have multiple Sent Items folders. Each mail account has
its own, and the one in Storage Folders is used by news posts.

Select Tools, Options, Send and make sure that you have checked the
option to save a copy in the Sent Items.

Re: Sent emails

I checked after I posted & think I must have hit something by mistake as
managed to get the sent email back in order again. Tried to re-post but got
cut off. Will also see about deleting some mail too.

Noticed your comment re "u have multiple Sent Item Folders". I had read
using WLM my page was able to be seen by Microsoft so gather that info is
correct. Are u able to read mail too? Must say a bit worrying.

Re: Sent emails

Everyone who has at least one mail account set up in WLM has multiple
Sent Items folders (and multiple Deleted Items folders) because that's
the way WLM is designed.

My point was to make sure that you are looking at the right Sent Items
folder. If you send a message from a mail account, it goes to the Sent
Items folder for that mail account, Not the one under Storage Folders.

I can't see anything on your PC or any of your mail.

I presume you are asking about the Tools, Options, General to send Usage
Data to Microsoft. I don't know what specific data is being sent, but I
seriously doubt it includes any e-mail contents. If I had to guess,
it's probably number and types of e-mail accounts, number of news
accounts and may number of messages sent/received per account.

Re: Sent emails

Thanks for clearing that up Michael, yes I was looking in the correct sent
folder but some how mucked it up possibly when I was looking for a way to get
rid of the CC & BCC & yesterday after deleting heaps of mail noticed my
emails to my Hotmail Inbox were coming to the bottom so followed your
earlier advice for View & noticed the order had got changed. Now back to
normal. Thanks.
