    Outlook Express

When sending a Email it holds on connecting for anything from 10 seconds to
holding indefinitely.Have to stop the send when SMTP comes up looking for
    server.
The only way to send is to click send, stop, send untill it deceids to send.
Live Mail looks as though it is going to the same.
I have tried it with the Virus scan turned of for out going mail, no
    difference.
    Any help will be appreciated.

What antivirus program or programs do you have? Some of them don't
stop interfering with email even if you turn of part of them or even turn
    off the whole antivirus program.

Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail?
It's unclear which since the web interface was used to post the original message?

I only downloaded Live Mail last night, (Australia Time ). When I tested it,
it done the same as Outlook Express. Hence i said it would have the same
problem. Hope this answers your question. Could it be a problem in my iE7.

    Re: Outlook Express

A recent version of the Trend antivirus program (details not available)
causes problems in the Windows Mail program that comes with Vista.
However, you'll have to wait for someone else to tell you if it also causes
problems in Windows Live Mail or Outlook Express. Problems in email
caused by antivirus programs are often slow to appear, often only
after the antivirus program decides to block a message due to a virus.

    Re: Outlook Express

I wouldn't lean in that direction until more info is available specifically unique to an error.

Http account ? If so, what server is in use for WLM ?
    http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaS....0.0/Sync.aspx
    http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaS....0.0/sync.aspx
    http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata
    http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
http://oe.hotmail.com/secure/hmdata (old server and normally may only works for a few select pre CY2002 accounts)

    If not http, and pop3...
Usual suspect...ISP problems, AV program(even disabling email may not remove engine involved in filtering)
If pop3, an error message is usually available...

Thank you for your help it is a POP3 . And as you suggested it is a ISP
fault. Their service has not been the best of late. I will ring them and get
them to have a look at it. I want to get an opinion first incase it was
something simple and I would look a fool for not knowing.
    Thank you again,,, Grumpy,,

    Hello Winston:

My error message for the Live Mail problem is the first one on your list:

    http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaS....0.0/Sync.aspx

Do you have a fix for this or a way around it?

    Thanks,
    Karen
