actual email itself (the contents of it) do not show up at all. any ideas as
to why?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, Jordan.
Are you looking in the Junk e-mail folder? Some kinds of malware can be
triggered by simply opening the message. (That's what I've heard; I've
never actually seen one of those.) So WLM does not show the contents, even
in the Reading Pane, for the mail in this Junk folder unless we insist by
double-clicking or right-clicking and choosing Open.
