| Guest | Problem importing emails / folders from Windows Mail Just downloaded WLM and imported emails and folders from Windows Mail. Trouble is that the new folders bear little resemeblence to the folders I have in WM and most emails are missing! When I checked the message store for WM, this also looks nothing like the folder structure I have in WM itself. For example there are about 20 folders in WM that have emails in there, but the store does not list any of these folders. Anyone know whats going on and how can i get the same folder structure with the same emails in WLM? Thanks |

| Guest | Re: Problem importing emails / folders from Windows Mail Hi, LoreKai. Do you have anything in your Imported folder? Down at the bottom, in your Storage Folders listing. While there, you might also check for Recovered Items. RC -- R. C. | Guest | Re: Problem importing emails / folders from Windows Mail Thanks for taking time to reply. Yes I have folders in the imported folders - but they do not mirror how I have them set up in WM. Also stacks of emails are missing. When I open Windows Mail I have all my folders nicely laid out. When I look at the mail store, there is a different structure there completely - I guess microsoft have a way of storing things and then WM converts this into the layout I want to see - a bit of a dumb idea really. When the new program imports, its taking from the store. What I really can;t get my head around is that in WM I have a folder with an email in there. If I search my hard drive for the same folder, it doesn't exist! "R. C. White" wrote:

| Guest | Re: Problem importing emails / folders from Windows Mail If you want to ask about Windows Mail, instead of Windows Live Mail, you're likely to get answers faster if you ask in newsgroup: microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail Windows Mail stores its messages in a directory that is either system or hidden, so you'll have to enable showing them since the default is not to show hidden or system files.
