Tablet PC and Windows Live Mail Desktop

Hi

I have a small question about the Windows Live mail Desktop.

I recently bought a HP TX2009AU tablet pc.
Everything seems to be hunky dory, however am facing a small issue with
using the touchpad scroll bar on the left navigation in the Windows Live
Mail desktop.

I focus the mouse on the left side (Where we see all the email a/c's and
folders), use the up and down on the touch pad for scrolling up and down.
The scrolling does not occur. Instead it starts scrolling on the right side
(Where we have the emails)

Any suggestions?

You have to pay closer attention to which part of the UI
has keyboard focus before you can use the "keyboard".
For example, look for clues such as colour of selected
item and the icons which indicate whether a group of items
is expanded or contracted.

Can you do a Tab or Backtab (Shift-Tab) key?
Then you can watch how switches in focus using
those keys affect the presentation of the areas
which are switched to and from.

Re: Tablet PC and Windows Live Mail Desktop

You were right!
It was a focus issue after all.

I clicked on one of the folders on the left side and then attempted to
scroll.. IT WORKS!!! Thanks

However, I do not click, instead just keep the mouse on top of any of the
items on the left side, then it would not scroll.

Any thoughts?

Re: Tablet PC and Windows Live Mail Desktop

Putting the cursor (mouse) on top of a folder in the left pane, highlights
the folder and displays the popup window with the folder name. The popup
window displays the folder name which lets you see the folder name when the
folder pane is collapsed and shows the full newsgroup name. The popup
window is showing which folder will open if you left click.
Just highlighting a folder is not going to open that folder. It would be a
undesirable for just highlighting to open a folder.

Re: Tablet PC and Windows Live Mail Desktop

I know what you mean!

I have around 6 hotmail accounts. (Don't ask me why.. It's a long story and
NO.. I do not have malicious intentions)

If we expand all the folders (of hotmail) then to move from one hotmail
account to another, I have to scroll up and down.
I would like to just keep the mouse focus in the left page and use the
scroll keys (On my laptops touch pad).

You could also move the folders list by dragging on its scrollbar.
That would maintain keyboard focus wherever it was until you
actually clicked on a folder that dragging would bring into view.

If you mentioned some of your hardware details
someone who has the same setup would
probably be able to offer more suggestions.
E.g. dragging with a wheel mouse may be easier
than dragging with a regular mouse, etc.
