The latest version of Windows Mail is the one that came with Vista, and it's
unlikely there will ever be another version. It's not available for
download.

Are you sure you aren't confusing it with Windows Live Mail, which has a
similar name but isn't the same program?

Re: windows mail version?

Which mail client are you using now? Click on its Help, About...
and it will tell you the name and version number.

Who is your ISP? Your ISP is lying. Mail uses universal protocols
like POP3, and any mail client will work fine, as long as it runs on your
version of Windows.

"Windows Mail" comes bundled with Vista. It is somewhat buggy and has
never been updated. You would be better off upgrading to the newer
Windows Live Mail:
