Unable to delete some Storage Folders

I have a few duplicate folders like Drafts, Sent items and Deleted Items set
up under storage folders. I think they were imported from Outlook Express
somehow.....When I right click on them, I don't get "delete" as an option.

RE: Unable to delete some Storage Folders

Hey, I just a few minutes ago moved my stuff from Windows Mail to Windows
Live Mail and I noticed the same thing. You can't delete them. Look on them
as a "design feature"! I have no idea what purpose they serve. I intend to
simply ignore them.

Re: Unable to delete some Storage Folders

There should be one set of those under Storage Folders at the very top
of the list above all the user created ones. Those cannot be deleted.
The Drafts and Sent Items folders here are used when posting to
newsgroups. The Deleted Items is used when you delete anything from a
storage folder.

In addition, each mail account will have its own set of those folders.

If you have additional folders further down the list of Storage Folders
(such as under Imported Folders), you should be able to delete those.

Re: Unable to delete some Storage Folders

Michael

I am grateful for your exposition of the reasons for these folders. Whether
I can remember them in the future is moot.

Re: Unable to delete some Storage Folders

System-created folders can't be deleted.
Only custom-created folders can be deleted.

Re: Unable to delete some Storage Folders

Hello,
Coming back to the draft folder, I was very surprised to notice that with
WLMail the drafts are now stored at Hotmail (when you use a Hotmail account).
So you are each time asked to confirm that you have read your E-Mail. As a
solution to avoid this strange situation, the support recommended to
deactivate asking a reading confirmation !
With OE the drafts were stored in a local folder (which is still available
but not used).
Interesting difference between the two mail-clients.
