Vista - Problem on WLM Newsgroup Quickview

Ok,

So I have been using WLM for a few months now, and have grown to like it,
for both email and newsgroup reading.
All of a sudden this afternoon, when I have newsgroups ticked, if I click on
quick view, it shows 25 unread newsgroup messages. If I click on the arrow
by quick view, it shows " all news ", with 25 unread messages, which show up
in the newsgroup reading pane, they show up under both quick view tab, and
all messages tab. They show up in bold, as unread messages.

Here's the thing - I cannot mark them read, I click to mark them read and
they just stay there, and stay bold. Plus, these 25 messages are dated from
June 7 back to March 17. They just suddenly appeared this afternoon. Plus, I
just deleted my newsgroup messages and compacted/compressed, about a week
or two ago.

So why all of a sudden, are these supposedly unread newsgroup messages
appearing on the quick view tab, marked as unread? And I cannot seem to get
the marked as read? Also, I have all my newsgroups set to " hide read
messages".
I am running Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP1, with all updates.

Any tips here would be appreciated.

Being the curious type, I would still be interested, in knowing why and/or
how this happened, if anyone knows. Sure glad this fixed it though, I will
save the file and know to run it again, if it happens again.

I don't leave mail in the account "folders for too long; I move then to
storage ASAP - to that end I have a __SortThis folder in storage,

That doesn't mean that WLMail does not have a defect, it means that I prefer
to avoid using process rather than correct using fixups.
