no notifaction using imap

Hi all,

i get no "new email" notification or sound when a new message arrives with
my imap account. the email is delivered in my inbox, but i get no
notification.

the option to play a sound when a new message arrived is checked, but no
sound is played either

Any ideas?

Using Vista 64bit...

I believe the new mail notification only applies to POP3.

Actually i found the problem. If you use IMAP Idle, that means not to check
for new emails every x minutes, the email is delivered in the inbox but no
notification is displayed. if you check for auto download new messages every
x minutes, the notification pop ups when a new message has arrived....

maybe a bug, maybe a feature

Well...the notification option seems totally broken if auto check for
new messages is unchecked. imap /pop3 or hotmail emails...no differnece..

anyone can confirm?
