| Guest | Next version assuming there is one, what chance do you think there is that there will be means via which one can have Mail Quick Views available when looking at news, and vice versa of course. With some reluctance I could accept having discrete instances - although I'd prefer one. I ask because I am fed up flicking between the News and Mail in WLMail, it's too slow, I can't easily use another mail client because I have Live Hotmail accounts, thus I'm more or less forced to consider using another News Client. I've actually gotten to like WLMail as a newsreader, IMO its a better news reader than it is a mail client. So if I have to divide in order to conquer I would actually prefer another mail client rather than another news reader, but these legacy Hotmail accounts make that hard. Am I alone in facing with this dilemma. -- TUT I will not cease from Mental Fight, Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand, Blake (Jerusalem) __________________________________________ |

| Guest | Re: Next version While I agree that seeing new mail in a Quick View display while in the newsclient would be a nice addition, I also think that it would be premature to project what features 'might' be added to the next version. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Urbane.Tiger" <viking.warrior@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:O8ydnbmsLMi-q8rVnZ2dnUVZ_oWdnZ2d@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Next version Not quite sure what the problem is here ... I have the 'Unread e-mail' Quick view at the top of the panel in Newsgroups view. When new mail arrives, I get a sound notification; if the Unread e-mail count has increased, I know it wasn't junk and can view it there and then. Click back on the newsgroup I was in and I'm returned to where I left off. -- Noel "...winston" <winstonmvp@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1ACCC865-3853-4B01-AE69-0CEA57B4C9B2@xxxxxx

"Well you must have a different version because I don't see anything referring to mail when I'm in News except the Mail icon at the bottom of the left panel, vice versa when I'm in Mail, and I cant see anything in Options that would effect this" Then on a whim I right clicked Quick Views and there's a raft of options in Select Quick Views - I've already got what I want, why wasn't I told - Go away Thunderbird. -- Move over Linus -- man who asks silly questions may have prayers answered - TUT 2008 - The best way to have a good idea is to have lots of ideas. -- Linus Pauling __________________________________________ "Ildhund" <jnllb@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:#8$W4YF0IHA.5716@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Next version As suggested by someone in this group, I use Windows Live Mail for Mail and Windows Mail (Vista) for Newsgroups. I have been usinmg this set up for several months - works fine for me BChat "Urbane.Tiger" <viking.warrior@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:O8ydnbmsLMi-q8rVnZ2dnUVZ_oWdnZ2d@xxxxxx assuming there is one, what chance do you think there is that there will be means via which one can have Mail Quick Views available when looking at news, and vice versa of course. | Guest | Re: Next version bChat Not got Vista, got XP. But if I had Vista then I would ask you - given what I now know, then why would I do that? I now have what I've been looking for all the time, it was under my nose - just took a while to sniff it out What we need is a utility that we can turn on when we first use an app, as we move the cursor over controls or they get focus then things that you get if you right click or ctl cick come up in one of those semi transparent windows thingys. Then we would learn quicker and not ask stupid questions all the time. -- TUT __________________________________ "BChat" <BChat@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:e5uJ9XH0IHA.6096@xxxxxx
