CONTACTS LIST

Two questions about the Contacts List in Windows Live Mail:

1. In Outlook Express, there was a field called 'Display' that was
available when adding a new contact. For me, that was a very useful
field -- is there a comparable facility in WLM?

2. When I'm in the Contacts list in WLM and want to edit an existing entry,
how can I get straight to the 'Contact' page? If I double click the contact
name, it takes me to the 'Summary' page and I have to click on 'Contact' to
get to that page. How can one get there in one click?

Thanks in advance.

Re: CONTACTS LIST

1. Nickname was also in OE -- Display had a different function.

2. I don't understand -- I was talking about List View. To edit a contact
from the list view, you need to double click on the contact or choose Edit
contact from the toolbar, and then switch to the Contact page. Is there an
easier way?

3. What do TUT and 'veritas omnia vincit' mean?

4. Please note my tagline.

Re: CONTACTS LIST

Sorry about that - anyone know how to remove items from WLMail context
menus - I clicked reply rather than reply to group,

Re: CONTACTS LIST

You might want to disguise your mail address here so that inadvertant
Reply,s rather than Reply to Groups get bounced. There's also the issue of
spammers harvesting addresses from Usenet posts.

I'm not intimate with OE, it would help if you described the function that
OE's Display provides to you.

Sorry I missed your "list", I don't think you can access Contact in a single
click- but I could be wrong. Suggest you suggest here help->send feedback

Re: CONTACTS LIST

1. Name and Nickname are the closest. The former is created by WLM using the first and last name, the latter requires user entry.
This approach is somewhat similar to Outlook which chooses to fill in the Display name field with the first/last name but also
unlike WLM includes the email address.
e.g. Any Name (anyname@xxxxxx)
- When viewing the entire Contacts list via shortcut or Control Shift C the name field is comprised of the First and last name
unless a Nickname is entered, if Nickname is entered the Name field will display the Nickname.
2. Not possible

ms-mvp mail

p.s. As Tut recommended, to avoid spam and address harvesting consider changing your posting properties(e.g. name@xxxxxx) or
using a throw-away email address(e.g. Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail.com)

India's Motto satyam eva jayate рд╕рддреНрдпрдореЗрд╡ рдЬрдпрддреЗ - Sanskrit: "Truth Alone
Triumphs"

panamahat said The most accurate English translation of the Latin 'veritas
omnia vincit' is "Truth Conquers All"

urbane.tiger now says

that is probably so, certainly has a better rhythm

but the definitive source is arguably the Sanskrit version, it predates the
Latin by a long chalk

suggestion - put your posts at the top so folks reading them don't get the
deja vu's

Yes, TUT, you're right -- I wasted a lot of time trying to find panamahat's
post because he stuck it right down the bottom without snipping any of the
earlier (now irrelevant) stuff.
