| | single inbox like OE is there way to have a single Inbox for multiple POP3 accts like OE did? I would like one that I could apply my rules to, as I already had existing rules that moved msgs. into various folders. Now I have an empy Inbox under 'Storage Folders' with my sub-folders under it and email goes into each account's Inbox. |

| | Re: single inbox like OE WLMail already has individual Inbox folders for each account. Are you wanting to manually apply rules? If you used the WLMail Inbox folders, quick views would show all Inbox emails. -- Ronald Sommer "anon" <lkjlkj@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 6B0F815-5505-47DC-B5EC-4035132CC89A@xxxxxxQuote: > is there way to have a single Inbox for multiple POP3 accts like OE did? > I would like one that I could apply my rules to, as I already had existing > rules that moved msgs. into various folders. | | Re: single inbox like OE Hi, Anon. My rules are working on my 3 POP3 accounts - although 99% of my mail comes to one of them. I'm not sure what the "secret" is, but in my Select Quick Views, the only box I have checked is the top one: "Unread e-mail - Shows all unread messages in all your e-mail accounts." This works very much like a "single Inbox for multiple POP3 accts like OE did", as you said. In my Mail Rules, I have NOT checked the box for the condition "Where the message is from the specified account", so it apparently applies to mail from all accounts. In Storage Folders, I do have separate Inboxes for each account and I can force a scan of existing messages in each one; this comes in handy when I create a new rule and need to apply it to messages already in an Inbox. So long as they are still Unread, all incoming messages (the ones that don't get trapped by the Junk filter) stay in the Unread e-mail in Quick views, along with the count of unread messages. When I read them, they stay there until I leave Quick views - to visit newsgroups, for example. When I come back to Quick views, the Read messages are gone, having been moved to the Storage Folders, either to the folders specified in my rules, or into the Inboxes for the individual accounts. | | Re: single inbox like OE You can do that with message rules. I do. By default all messages rules apply to all POP3 mail as it downloads. All your existing message rules should work as before. And for a final message rule add For all messages Move it to the Inbox folder The confusing thing about reading the text of the message rules is that you can have multiple folders with the same name (e.g. multiple Inbox folders) and its not obvious which one it means. But if you click on the folder name, you get the folder tree. My final rule is moving to the Inbox under Storage Folders. So with that final rule, anything that doesn't get moved to another folder ends up in the Storage Folder Inbox. Nothing ends up in the Inboxes under my individual accounts. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "anon" <lkjlkj@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 6B0F815-5505-47DC-B5EC-4035132CC89A@xxxxxxQuote: > is there way to have a single Inbox for multiple POP3 accts like OE > did? Still, it is a pain to have to go through the individual Deleted Items folders periodically, since there is no aggregate Quick view for that. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP |
