Live ID dialog box problem

I use Live Mail to access my HOtmail account. Every time I open Live Mail I
get the dialog box to sign in to Live ID. It repeatedly fails to remember my
password. Remember password is checked in Tools>Accounts etc. I don't need to
sign into my Live ID anyway. I can proceed by closing the box but I want to
stop the box coming up everytime I open LIve Mail. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Live ID dialog box problem

Tools/Accounts password options are for remembering the password when communicating to the mail server.
Is the Windows Live Sign-In Assistant installed ?
Tools/Options/Connection/Sign-In is used to enter a LiveID, Password, and remember etc..

Re: Live ID dialog box problem

Windows Live INstaller reports that Sign-IN Assistant is installed but I
can't find it on my computer. Any suggestions?

Re: Live ID dialog box problem

Should show up in the Add-Remove(XP) or Programs and Features(Vista).

Windows Password in use ?
O/S ?
What else have you done ?
Clean cookies, Windows Updated, etc..

Re: Live ID dialog box problem

I found Sign-in assistant listed in add/remove programs but can't locate
where this program is located. Anyway I re-installed it and this has not
fixed the problem. I can't change the settings because I can't locate the
program.

Re: Live ID dialog box problem

There are no settings to change in the Sign-in assistant. You could
check that it's enabled in IE7 at Tools > Manage add-ons.

But if you Stop signing in as I suggested (since you say you don't
need to), you shouldn't get asked to.

Re: Live ID dialog box problem

Thanks. Not signing in was not working ( ie I just closed the box every time
but it kept asking me the next time). But I found the manage add-ons as you
suggested and disabled sign-in. This has stopped the box opening.

Windows live ID problem

here is one for you. when trying to paste a picture or a document in the base of a e-mail ( which I was able to do before ) it now asks me for a windows live id user name and password. what is the fix for that since it is easier for me to paste in there instead of making it a attachment?
