Known Issues?

Does an MVP or someone else maintain a Known Issues list for WLM, perhaps
collected from what's been hashed out here? Several of the ones I know
annoy me to no end, so I hope MS is well aware of the reports and is
planning a maintenance release soon.

Re: Known Issues?

WLM seems to have been abandoned like an orphan child in the marketplace.

A maintenance release is overdue.

Re: Known Issues?

I think I've read that Microsoft is planning to release the next version
of Windows Live Mail in a few months. No word on a new version
of Windows Live Messenger, though.

Re: Known Issues?

I don't see how they could have a new release in a few
months when beta testing hasn't even started yet.

Re: Known Issues?

Thanks.

I want to change colors -- make the entire background light blue rather than
white [as I can in OE] -- much easier on the eyes -- and get larger fonts.

You know, they have been cutting Live-branded products left and right, but
since this is supposed to be MS's one and only "current" consumer mail
program now, it would stun me if it was discontinued. It's just been quiet.

I think sometimes MS forgets that in this live, Internet era, people expect
to see things pushed out more often. Even Apple manages tweaks to their apps
every time they push out any of their incremental OS releases (10.5.1 etc).
IE8 is another slothful example, with a vast gulf of time and stony silence
between Betas 1 and 2.

Re: Known Issues?

Agreed. The recent Firefox 3.0 release is making MS look like
they are asleep at the wheel.
I fully expected to see some type of email upgrade in Vista's SP1,
and was really disappointed when that didn't happen.

There are known knowns. There are things we know that we know.
There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we
now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns.
There are things we do not know we don't know.
