Reading pane not working with Firefox 3

I lost my reading pane when using Livemail in Firefox. It still shows up in
IE, but I can't get to work in FF. I've tried searching for it under the
menu, but there is nothing clickable on my screen (except the ads of course).
Anyone know how to fix this?

I have tried turning the reading pane on in all positions, but it never
shows up. One other note: at the bottom of my page is the following: "Have a
fast connection and want more features? Try the full version to see message
previews in your inbox. (It's free, too.)" No matter how many times I click
on it, it still shows up, so I'm not sure if I have the new livemail or the
old one. The setting that allows me to skip the "today" page and go right to
my inbox is also ineffective -- my "today" page ALWAYS shows up first. So the
reading pane isn't the only feature that is completely broken, just the one I
want the most!

RE: Reading pane not working with Firefox 3

After an hour of researching this problem on the internet, I have learned
that Live Mail is simply written so that it won't work with Firefox 3. Nice
work, Microsoft! No really, I LOVE your family of products and can't
understand why people would complain about them. Why would someone want to
use a different browser when they have a perfectly -- I mean partially --
serviceable Internet Explorer already installed? I have more comments but
will hold them. Suffice to say you have turned off yet another customer.

Re: Reading pane not working with Firefox 3

Sounds like you've got your cart in front of the horse, since Firefox 3
was developed and released long after Live Mail was released.

Re: Reading pane not working with Firefox 3

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate with Firefox 3.0.
As far as I can see, my Windows Live Hotmail account is working fine.
The Contacts, Calendar, Mail, and Today features are fine.

I have this message:
"Want to race through your inbox even faster?
Try the full version of Windows Live Hotmail. (It's free, too.)"
which is what I assume you are referring to.

Do you, by any chance, have the reading pane set to OFF until you select
message?
Options-Customize-Reading pane settings - just a thought.

Same thing here with FF3 running on XP Pro SP3, no problem at all.

Anyone managed to get round this yet?

To get this message it seems that you might not be running the full version
of Windows Live Hotmail, which includes several enhanced elements including
the reading pain, the ability to drag and drop messages and use right click
to display further message options / shortcuts.

I am running Firefox 3 in Windows XP SP 2 and, like smbreau, only get the
slower version of Hotmail with the reduced feature set.

Is anyone running the full version in Firefox3?

I get this message when I sign in with Firefox 3:

| You are temporarily using the classic version of Windows Live Hotmail because
| of a problem during sign in. To use the full version, try signing in again. It
| may help if you go to your web browser's options first and clear your browsing
| history and cookies.

Even after clearing history and cookies.
