Forwarded to Windows Live Mail newsgroup via crosspost.

Are you a Hotmail Plus or MSN Premium subscriber? Has your MSN/Hotmail
account ever been accessible via POP3 in OE or WLMail?

Re: Cannot send mail from Windows Live Mail

If you have POP3/SMTP access to Hotmail, then the outgoing
connection has to be both secure and authenticated. See
http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com...90CA!171.entry
for details of the correct settings.
If you don't, set the account up to use HTTP instead. This has a
number of advantages over POP3/SMTP. Use the Add an e-mail account
wizard and simply accept the defaults.
