Windows Live Mail / Comcast

We just got Comcast on our computer and I am trying to set up our E-mail
accounts using Windows Live Mail. I am getting all the E-mail in ok but when
I try to send out anything from Windows Live all my mail goes into the Sent
folder and gets stuck.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity.

Subject 'Fw: AFTER HILLARY: CAN A WOMAN WIN?'
Server: 'smtp.gmail.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10053

I checked all my settings and went to Comcast and looked at all instructions
and everything matches exactly. Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this
error . We are getting mail in Ok this is just outgoing mail on all accounts
even Google and MSN will not work sending out mail.

Any Suggestions is appreciated .
Regards,
DWJ

-- Change the port for Gmail on the smtp to 465 and the port for incoming
Gmail to 995. For Comcast change the smtp port to 587 and incoming to 110.

For starters, Gmail really wants you to use port 465 with SSL. While Gmail
will also accept incoming connections to port 587 with STARTTLS, Windows
Live Mail, like MS Outlook Express, can't be configured to use STARTTLS on
any port other than port 25. But the Gmail instructions are very explicit:
Either port 465 w/SSL, or port 587 w/TLS.

MSN should work with the DeltaSync protocol. Comcast may block port 25
(though, with a new account, you probably haven't been up long enough to
catch a spamming 'bot, which is what causes Comcast to impose port 25
blocks).

Re: Windows Live Mail / Comcast

Chuck Tanner,
Everything works just fine now. Big Thank You !!!

I've called Comcast 2 times and spent most of the evening trying to get the
correct info but Comcast was no help at all, they just told me that they do
not support Windows Live mail and I could Google the fix but you came to my
rescue.

I really appreciate your kindness!
Best Wishes,
Dean J.
