| | Problem sending email Using WindowsXP SP3 - WLM... When I compose an email message and try to send it, it always takes a few minutes before it gets sent. Task bar shows "Working online" then after 3 - 4 minutes Task bar will change to SENDING MESSAGE. Then the message will go to the Sent Items folder. WLM has worked like this ever since I installed it several months ago. WLM 12.0.1606. If I use Windows Mail, the message is sent immediately. WLM takes several minutes before it will even connect to the server. Just updated WinXP to SP3, but had the same problem with SP2, and again Windows Mail sends message instantly when I click "Send". Would anyone have an idea why Windows Mail works correctly, but when I use WLM it takes several minutes to send a message. Thanks. |

| | Re: Problem sending email One possibility is your AV scanning outgoing mail. If it is, tell it not to. Another is that addresses are being checked against directory entries. Have a look at Tools > Accounts and see if there are any contacts directory accounts. If there are, check their properties to see whether the option to check email addresses before sending is selected. If it is, switch it off and see whether that helps. If you enable logging at [Tools >] Options > Advanced > Maintenance, you'll be able to see what's happening during those 3-4 minutes in WindowsLiveMail.log, which sits in the root of your Store folder whose location will be revealed by pressing the Store folder button on the same Maintenance page. It's hidden by default, so you'll have to instruct Explorer to Show hidden files and folders. -- Noel "Fishermun" <no.spam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:153754EA-1332-4E76-AF53-07CCD4CC935B@xxxxxx Quote: > Using WindowsXP SP3 - WLM... | | Re: Problem sending email Do you have Tools, Options, Send, Send Immediately checked? If Not, when you send a message it sits in the Outbox until you do a manual send and receive or a timed one as specified in Tools, Options, General. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Fishermun" <no.spam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:153754EA-1332-4E76-AF53-07CCD4CC935B@xxxxxx Quote: > Using WindowsXP SP3 - WLM...
