Vista - Password BEFORE Windows Live Mail will open?

When I run Windows Live Mail now, my inbox opens up. To get new messages, I
have set it to require me to enter my password manually.

However, I would like to set a password so that the password would be
required BEFORE I can see my in-box. Can I do this and if so, how?

Nope, neither Windows Mail nor Windows Live Mail have a password option.
You'll have to use your XP or Vista user login password for security.

This is a huge problem. When will Microsoft Listen and simply add a
password functon. Let people who don't want it just turn it off.....

The login profile password is not enough, need to make email more secure.

I use outlook express now, and this is the issue that I need to remedy
before upgrading to Vista or W7.

Tru, but if you have a user profile password that you have logged in, it
would also be nice to have the Mail password so the application itself is
secure. I don't want to have to log out, or lock my user profile
constantly, but do want my emails secure.
Just seems so simple to add a password when the app opens. Many other
common programs have this security already such as OE, Outlook, etc.......

That make no sense. MSOE is just an application, while Windows Vista and
Windows 7 are operating systems.

MSOE Identities, while they can be "password protected", offer limited email
security; limited to locking out another user from accessing your email
servers. All locally stored email are accessible to any user with access to
the console. All that is necessary is to execute the mail import function,
and point it at the MSOE message store for the other users.

The only way to secure your email from the access of prying eyes is to
create local User accounts in the OS, and activate the password requirement
for those accounts. This will actually lock users out of access to your
files; all of them.

I understand all that and how it isn't the best security, but along with the
profile
logins I would just like the simple security of the application to have one
level of login security to guard against the simple users.
