| | Hotmail 3-pane view has disappeared (If this is not the correct forum/group, please tell me where to post this question. Thank you.) I am a computer professional, trainer for nearly 20 years, and this has me stumped. And frustrated. My Hotmail settings are for the reading pane at the right; so I have three "columns" with the list of folders, list of messages, and the reading pane. Normal. (This is Full version of Live Hotmail, not the Classic.) This morning in Hotmail I accidentally clicked on the window pane divider bar between the list of messages and the reading pane, and the list of messages disappeared. I can choose Options, Reading Pane Settings: Right, Bottom, or Off. Bottom and Off function like normal, but Right only displays the message and no reading pane. In "Right" mode, there is no difference between Full Message View, and not (when you click the X). An hour of clicking and experimentation shows that I CAN click and drag the divider bar between the folder list and the message pane, and there hiding is the message list... but as soon as you release the mouse, the message pane covers it back up again. Double-clicking does nothing. I WANT MY THREE-PANE VIEW BACK: folder, messages, reading pane. Can you help me? ONE HOUR LATER: HELP! Another click has made it worse. It is like the pane has maximized itself. The above paragraph that begins "An hour..." is no longer true. I can no longer click and drag the divider bar. In fact, you can see the window back behind, peeking through the 1/16" space where the divider bar should be. You can click on what is Inbox, Drafts, Sent, etc. and the contents of that folder will display. - If I choose Options, Reading pane settings, Right, I see the list of messages but no reading pane or Folder list. - If I choose Options, Reading pane settings, Bottom, I see the list of messages and the message below but no Folder list. - If I choose Options, Reading pane settings, Off, I see the list of messages but no reading pane or Folder list. If I switch back to Classic, I cannot resize the Folder list pane and the Message list pane by clicking&dragging on the bar between them. I think you should be able to do this. |

| | Re: Hotmail 3-pane view has disappeared Thank you, Dave, for your reply. But hey Microsoft, HOW is the general public supposed to know to go to microsoft.public.msn.discussion for a Hotmail question? Even I would never have guessed to look at an MSN forum. ![]() "Dave" wrote: Quote: > The Hotmail group is located at... > microsoft.public.msn.discussion > > I just tried to check my Live Hotmail account (I just use it for test > purposes) and it wouldn't load the new version, only Classic.
