| | Install problem I am trying to install WLM on a work machine without success. After 6 tries over different times of the day and over different days, I always get the "Sorry, we could not install this program" message. Had no problem at all on two PCs at home. Machine specs Pentium D, WinXP SP3, with absolute loads of disc space. My work environment is a university campus, and so my connection is through a proxy server that requires authentication and the university's firewall (which I have no control over). I suspect one of these is the issue - there is no pop-up to ask me my proxy authentication. Is there any other way to access installation files? e.g. a redistributable version? Or any other solution for that matter. cheers Bill |

| | Re: Install problem The information at this link will guide you to downloading the Windows Update download of WLMail, and extracting the MSI installer from it using a resource editor: http://dotnetwizard.net/?p=476 The location of the Windows Update download is obtained from WindowsUpdate.log (after a successful download) by searching it for "wlmail". Thus, for the English version of WLMail 12.0.1606, the download is: http://download.windowsupdate.com/ms...ec36b3350e.exe -- Cheers, Peter (Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 with Windows Live Mail 12.0.1606) "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare --------------- "Landy" <noone@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OVCFiJt5IHA.1892@xxxxxx Quote: > I am trying to install WLM on a work machine without success.
