Then you can manually check your spelling when you're done. When the word you don't want changed comes up you can have spellchecker either ignore the word or add it to your personal dictionary. If you want your spelling autochecked, after you finish, you can go back through the steps and check the box "Check my spelling as I type." Ella |

| | Re: Spell check autocorrect OK, for 'next to' read 'above'. I'll be more careful next time. Typos like 'clinet' get a wavy line anyway - all right, I then have to correct it myself, but I'd rather do that than have nanny changing HTA to HAT when I mean HTA. But it's clearly not broken for some, otherwise the OP wouldn't have complained. -- Noel "Urbane Tiger" <viking.warrior@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:G5KdnSA9dOhdHhjVnZ2dnUVZ_uGdnZ2d@xxxxxx Quote: > I have "Automatically correct common capitalization and spelling > mistakes" above "Check my spelling as I type" rather than next to > it. > > "Check spelling as I type" is, as "Ella Poindexter" wrote, the > third item in my spelling options. > > I am using - version 12.0.1606. > > I have "Automatically correct .." checked, but I can't recall it > ever correcting clinet to client - a well know common error, nor > THe to The which is another one.
