Vista - Email won't send with attachments

My emails stopped sending when I have attachments --- Can any one help with this - also - emails with HTML will only read as text. Any help is appreciated.

1) How large are the attachments?

Are you getting any error message?

Make sure that you anti-virus is not scanning outgoing mail. That can
cause problems.

2) Tools, Options, Read, Uncheck Read All Messages in Plain Text. Or
for a quick workaround for the current message, press ALT+Shift+H

We had this problem for about a month with just windows mail - but the emails would eventually go. Then I updated the Windows Vista about a week ago and now NO emails with any type of attachments will go through Windows Live Mail. I have discussed this with our service provider and they think it is a "vista" problem - so has anyone else had this problem? I have been on other websites and it seems to be a very common problem with Windows Live Mail and Vista.

Again all firewall and virus protection is turned off - so this isn't the problem.

What exactly does the error message say?

Which antivirus? Some of them still cause problems even when
turned 'off'.

Trend MicroVirus = so you are saying even with it turned off it causes problems. I am about to renew my virus protection - should I get something different so I can again send emails with attachmetns?

No need to buy anything. Of the free antivirus programs,
the ones that have a good reputation are:

AVG free edition:

However, with either of those, during the install phase you must
select 'custom' install, and then deselect the email scanning module
so it won't install.

Afaik..there were no Vista updates that impacted WLM ability to send mail with an attachment or impacted an isp's ability to
transmit or receive emails with attachments.

Care to elaborate on the primary file extensions being sent(attempted) ?

The attachments are merely an email sent to us and then us forwarding that email - it shows it as an attachment. Also if I try to send anything like a picture (very small pic) - the emails won't send. Emails do go if I'm just typing in plain text, etc. I have contacted our internet service provider and we can send emails with attachments through their "webmail" service - so it has to be something wrong with Windows Live Mail or Windows Mail. It is extremely frustrating!

The firewall we are using is the one that came with the computer - Windows Firewall. We turned it totally off and turned off Trend Micro and still cannot send emails. I have searched through the internet and have found that many people are having this same problem. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
