| | Windows Live Mail with Microsoft Word 2002 Hi, have Vista Home Premium and Windows Mail just new and now wondered if migrating to Live Mail would be better as this is said to be the programme to be further developed but besides the folder structure with my 11 accounts being quite strange, it seems I can't send e-mails directly from my Word 2002 (no Word document as attachment wanted, the entire text of the Word document has to show up as e-mail directly) which I could do with Outlook Express and with Windows Mail as well. Is there a way to set this to work with WLM as well, or is it just impossible? Or should I better find me a newsgroup for Word? Found online and have tried to change/add settings in win.ini as well as in the Registry (LocalMachine-Software-Microsoft-Windows Messaging Subsystem) but it does not work and afterwards when I uninstall WLM it does not work any more with WM either. Only can get it back to working with WM when I go back with System Restore before the install of WLM! best wishes Heidi |

| | Re: Windows Live Mail with Microsoft Word 2002 I tried to get that to work with Word 2002 on XP and was unable. Another person tried with 2003 and had the same problem. With WLM as the default mail program, that option disappears from Word menu. With Outlook Express as the default, it returns. We tried a number of different INI and registry settings and nothing helped. One thing I noticed was that WLM comes with a couple of its own MAPI DLL files: smapi.dll and sqmapi.dll. Perhaps those are involved. But this isn't a feature that I would use much, so I have pursued playing with the DLL files to see if it could be made to work. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Computerfee" <Computerfee@xxxxxx-online.de> wrote in message news:ej#IPyi8IHA.1196@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, > > have Vista Home Premium and Windows Mail just new and now wondered if > migrating to Live Mail would be better as this is said to be the > programme to be further developed but besides the folder structure > with my 11 accounts being quite strange, it seems I can't send e-mails > directly from my Word 2002 (no Word document as attachment wanted, > the entire text of the Word document has to show up as e-mail > directly) which I could do with Outlook Express and with Windows Mail > as well. | | Re: Windows Live Mail with Microsoft Word 2002 Thanks Mike - sorry for being late, but I never had the time lately to look through the entire newsgroup and did not find my post in any kind of series as to the date. So today I found it when going through all posts. So maybe one day when somebody will find out about these special MAPI files of WLM my problem can be solved somehow. I myself don't know enough about that dll-file stuff so am just unable to even try. best wishes Heidi "Michael Santovec" <michael_santovec@xxxxxx> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:OG6vOxn8IHA.3724@xxxxxx Quote: >I tried to get that to work with Word 2002 on XP and was unable.
