US English keyboard."é" is Right-Alt+"e". "à" is "`" followed by "a" and so
forth. US-International keyboard can produce just about any Latin alphabet
accented character. You can configure the keyboard in Control Panel,
Regional and Language Options, Languages, Details. Many people recommend
Alt-nnn combinations, where "n" is any number, but I find them tiresome to
remember. You can also configure French as an additional language with
French keyboard, but if you do that you have to have the French keyboard
memorized, and you switch between French and English using the Language Bar
or a keyboard shortcut. F1 Search for "Language Bar" should give plenty of
information on this topic.
