| | Re: Windows Desktop Search & WLM What if you do a search for this thread: Windows Desktop Search & WLM I wonder if Windows Search will index and catch it from the subject line. | | Re: Windows Search & WLM Duly noted that what used to be Windows Desktop Search is now Windows Search in the 4.0 version. So, I've changed the subject line of this thread. Windows Search should be able to index anything on the hard drive, if the name is accurate. DSH |

Yes, even using search term attribute title: but searches with that attribute only succeed when the document was indexed by the the OE ifilter. Similarly author:spencer only finds stuff which has been indexed from being posted to newsgroups which I subscribe to using OE. I can find stuff in here which you have been involved with by searching for spencer folder:desktop and the number of hits I get with that corresponds with the number of hits I get from using a Ctrl-Shift-F Alt-r Find in WLMail. BTW I consider WS WIP so put your construction hat and work boots on and don't be too critical of its usability. <eg> FYI Robert Aldwinckle --- |

| | Re: Windows Search & WLM I did a Scorched Earth on the Windows Search Windows Search Options and did a cold reboot. The program automatically picked up Outlook Express but NOT WLM. So, the question NOW is whether we can get it to index WLM emails and newsgroup messages as well as OE -- AND whether it's CAPABLE of indexing WLM in toto. Perhaps there IS no WLM ifilter and the folks with muddy boots have yet to construct one. <g> DSH "Robert Aldwinckle" <robald@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:#PMkai29IHA.4952@xxxxxx Quote: > "D.
