[feature request] linked next/previous emails

There is an Email client for AmigaOS (YAMos, free and Open on SourceForge)
that has a unique feature I've never seen in other professional email
clients: it can keep track of the original msg and follow the discussion
back and forth. An example: A writes to B, B(r) -> A, then A(B(r)) -> B
again and so on. YAM can follow the discussion regardless of the different
"Sent Items" or "Received" folders they are in, and you can follow the
discussion easily.
This has nothing to do with grouping or use of trees to reorganize the
layout and acts inter-directories, whatever and wherever they are...
Would be great if WLM or WLMd will add this feature one day.

PS
Hope to have been clear describing how YAM works...

Re: [feature request] linked next/previous emails

Feedback should be sent using the electronic feedback form
Open WLM/Help/Send Feedback (web)

Re: [feature request] linked next/previous emails

Do they really read them? ;-)
Should I use my own language (the web page is localized) or english?

Re: [feature request] linked next/previous emails

They don't read these news groups, so the feedback form is your best bet.
You can change the language by clicking on the language in the upper right
corner, and selecting the one you want. I imagine that a request like this
will be translated into English and forwarded to the development team
anyway.

Re: [feature request] linked next/previous emails

"They" SHOULD be reading these newsgroups...

And the MVP's SHOULD be making weekly reports...

In any well-run organization.

Re: [feature request] linked next/previous emails

Correct, this is not a monitored newsgroup. Few in fact are.
Including a feedback form within the program(WLM) and/or via the Online Help meets that need.

Providing a feedback mechanism also limits the troll-factor-post when used as a baiting mechanism to support a delusionary inflated
ego demanding what and how things should be done.

Lol...it is hard to bait in a form without an audience..

The general rule to deal with trolls is DNFTEC(Do not feed the energy creatures)-ignore and don't respond..alternatively one can
block the poster..

How to Block a Troll in WLM:
Right Click on a troll's message
Scroll to Junk Mail
Select Add Sender to Blocked Senders List
Reset the Newsgroup

Re: [feature request] linked next/previous emails

Ehm... feedback from that form is limited to just 1000 chars so no serious
bug-reporting is possible (with attachs, logs etc.).
It I mail them just to say "hey! It crashed!" it's useless... needs more
serious bug-reporting system IMHO, all MS software.

Re: [feature request] linked next/previous emails

1000 characters should be more than sufficient to get your point across on a given topic, if fact also more than sufficient to
include your entire original post that started this thread.

Need more space for other items, repeat the process for a different topic

The alternative is to report it here or not report it all....the possibility of Msft reading the former diverges to the latter
method quite quickly. I.e. Use the feedback form.

Re: [feature request] linked next/previous emails

Hi, Spencer.

You've been a regular in these newsgroups long enough that you SHOULD know
better! Either you've never really read the MVP page, or you've chosen to
misunderstand what you read. :>( Did you overlook the phrase, "awarded for
voluntarily sharing", there?

http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?lc=1033

Once more: An MVP is NOT a Microsoft employee! Microsoft does not give us
orders or require reports, weekly or otherwise. We are strictly volunteers.
IF I receive an MVP Award again on October 1, 2008, it will be for help I've
already voluntarily provided, mostly in these newsgroups, before that date.
The MVP Award is a "thank you", not a contract.

There is a MAJOR difference between Microsoft employees, who usually include
[MS} or [MSFT] in their Sig in these newsgroups, and MVPs, who may or may
not include the MVP designation in their posts.

Pity the poor Microsoft employees whose job it is to try to manage us! They
say it is "like herding cats" because we are so darn outspoken and
independent. We DO NOT and WILL NOT make weekly reports - to anybody!

OK?
