    Accessibility Issue

I am a blind computer user and I use a screen reader with speech output
and I also have Windows XP for an OS.
I would like to use the Windows LiveMail desktop client but it appears
it doesn't work well with the screen reader; it seems that the interface
has been changed to a different type of view.
I use Outlook Express with out any problem with that interface.
Does anyone know of a way to contact someone from the accessibility team
to see if I can get this issue resolved or is there an article that
addresses the accessibility issue and has mention of a work around? If
the issue is known, will there be a fix in a future release?

What screen reader are you using? Is it the XP Speech-to-Text feature
    or some other product?

One issue you might run into is that the menus may be hidden by default.
You can toggle the menus off or on by using ALT+M then M.

I'm using Window-eyes by GwMicro. It's not so much the menu view but
when I use the arrow keys to move through the folders.
The folders are not announced (probably due to a highlighting issue),
and the focus gets drawn in to the list of messages with out my telling
    it to do so.
With Outlook Express, the screen reader works good with that interface
setup. I've checked with GwMicro and they basically say I'm on my own.

    Re: Accessibility Issue

The focus in WLM us flakey. The problem is not specific to using a
    screen reader.

When using the arrow keys to move down the folder list, sometimes the
focus stays on the folder list, sometimes it moves to the message list,
even when there are no messages displayed in the message list. Even
visually it's not always apparent whether the focus is on the folder
    list or the message list.

Even if the focus stays on the folder list, sometimes I need to press
the down arrow key only once to move to the next folder but usually
    twice.

As for using the up arrow to move up a folder, that never works unless I
use the down arrow once or tab through the message list and reading pane
    back to the folder list.

    Re: Accessibility Issue

    Hi Bill,

Can you tell me what version of Windows Live Mail you are using? Also, what
service pack are you on for XP? You can find both of these by:

    Windows Live Mail:
    - Click the Help menu, then About Windows Live Mail
    - You will see something that looks like: Version 2008 (Build 12.0.1606).
    We need that whole text.

    For XP:
    - Right click My Computer
    - Select Properties
    - You will see a version on the first tab. This is the information we need.

    Thanks,
