When using the arrow keys to move down the folder list, sometimes the
focus stays on the folder list, sometimes it moves to the message list,
even when there are no messages displayed in the message list. Even
visually it's not always apparent whether the focus is on the folder
list or the message list.

use the down arrow once or tab through the message list and reading pane
back to the folder list.
