Re: Storage Folder Basics

The Storage Folder is a repository for Mail and News messages, unlike Windows Explorer folders which can be used to store the same
and also detached files.

Storage Folder content is local for all types of accounts, unlike messages in a Live ID hotmail account(hotmail/msn/live.com)
folders which reside locally and on the Hotmail remote server.

Re: Storage Folder Basics

The Storage folders are on your local hard drive.

If the messages contain any attachments, the attachment is embedded
within the message within the storage folder. The attachments are not
directly accessible by other programs.

If you want to access the attachments you need to open the message and
then either open the attachment which will cause WLM to save a copy of
the attachment to the Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files and
launch the application or you can manually save the attachment to a
Windows folder of your choice where it will be accessible.
