Error Message when logging in my hotmail or live account when usingWindows Live Messenger

When signing in Microsoft Windows Live Messenger I always get an
error message that says

---------------------------------
Internet Explorer Script Error
Line: 2
Char: 29877
Error: 'a' is not null or not an object
Code: 0
URL:http://t.msn.com/en-ca/home.aspx?ver=8.5.1302&did=1

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page

YES or NO

---------------------------

What could be causing this problem?

Re: Error Message when logging in my hotmail or live account when usingWindows Live M

I have the same error message and can't find a solution either. Also messenger crashed and closes itself down a few minutes later. Re-downloading and installing doesn't work and it was working perfectly for about a month. However I was thinking it might be a problem with the download. How long ago did you download this version of windows live messenger?

Re: Error Message when logging in my hotmail or live account when usingWindows Live M

Oh! I think I've solve it. Well for now. I noticed that windows today had not come up since i started getting that error and I had not unchecked it. I then opened up windows messenger and in the few minutes it was working i went into tools (tools, then general, then uncheck the msn today feature) and unchecked the feature. I then signed in and out again and so far the error message has not come up. I don't know how to fix it, but unchecking msn today seems to have prevented getting the error and it crashing and closing.

Re: error message

Dorothy, its unclear if you think error is associated with Windows, IE or Windows Live Mail.
Two posts (error when pc is turned on, the other during IE use) and posted in the email client newsgroup.

This group is for Windows Live Mail..

Could you post more info...
Operating System
IE version
Email client

With that information and a bit more detail we may be able to resolve it or direct you to the correct newsgroup.

Re: error message

This looks like an IE error from a poorly designed website. This is the Live
Mail forum.
