Security Features In WLM & Spellchecker

One of the things I like are the various security improvements in WLM.

Some are obvious and some are not -- by design.

I particularly like the way it handles attachments.

The spellchecker is also much more powerful -- not perfect, but far
better than the one in OE6.

Re: Security Features In WLM & Spellchecker

It's the same spell checker as in OE6. The dictionaries are direct copies.
You can have it check spelling as you type, true, but you cannot yet have
multilingual documents.

Saludos,

Earle

Re: Security Features In WLM & Spellchecker

You can have multilingual documents, just switch input language and it will
check whatever the input language is, if you have the dictionary installed
that is.

Re: Security Features In WLM & Spellchecker

Well OK, you cannot have multilingual documents as you can in Office
programs. You cannot tell Windows Live Mail that this selection is in
German, for example, and this one is in English. The method you suggest
using can lead to some interesting errors if one is not careful.

Re: Security Features In WLM & Spellchecker

You also can't quickly shift back and forth between American Spelling
and English Spelling as you could in OE.

Re: Security Features In WLM & Spellchecker

OE doesn't come with a spell checker.
Your statement would be true if OE used the Office spelling dictionary.
Everyone did not have Office.

Re: Security Features In WLM & Spellchecker

You can do that in WLM if you manually install British (pompous Norman-based
French-and-Latin imitating) spelling in WLM. Remember WLM is for all
intents and purposes a Beta program. This is a good feature to put into
feedback if you want to see it in the final release.

There is no spell checker in MSOE 6. MSOE uses whatever proofing tool is
provided by MS Office; through Office 2003. Or MS Works (also version
dependent; 2000 works, version 8 does not). Otherwise, no spell checker,
unless you install a third party add-in.

How do you do that AND quickly shift back to American English Spelling
whenever you choose, as was a piece of cake in OE6?

Beta Program, Aye...
