For the equivalent in Windows Mail, it should work if you remove the
<> characters from the email address, so you might want to try that.

Re: Can't search on e-mail address in From header?

Hmm, worked when I tried it before and after your post. I grabbed its
Message-ID which you can use at Google Groups to search for the post,
which is:

http://groups.google.com/group/micro...7d7d361cf37721

Since the news: URL didn't specify an NNTP host, maybe the one that got
used for you has a low retention interval. WLM doesn't let you specify
which is the default NNTP server.

Re: Can't search on e-mail address in From header?

Fyi...WLM does allow one to choose the default server.(see attached).

And that was the issue(not the retention interval)...and most likely caused the last time I wiped this unit and imported the iaf
news accounts.

Really?... Nope. Set Folder pane on full. Right-click on a News server.
Check: Set as default account.

Works for me. Server: msnews.microsoft.com

So, if Winston is using his ISP's server as a default news server
he would have to either change the news default account
or convert the news link into an MS news URL

news://msnews.microsoft.com/ebpOUVozIHA.2384@xxxxxx

BTW IE8 isn't allowing me to open news links from its Address bar any more.
So, you may have to copy those to the OS Run... dialog instead.

FYI
