Vista - Unable to send email

Although I am able to receive messages, I cannot send any messages at all.
I'm using a BT Internet account POP'd to Windows Live Mail. Following error
message appears:

Unable to send or receive messages for the mail.btinternet.com account. An
incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages,
you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.

You'll find that box on the Servers tab if you right-click on the
account name in the Folder pane and select Properties.
