| | Is there a new-mail alert window? I've been trialing multiple e-mail clients so I'm getting confused as to which one has what feature. I thought WLM would show a semi-translucent new-mail alert popup in the lower right corner of the screen when a new e-mail was received. In the options, I can only see an option to play a sound. |

| | Re: Is there a new-mail alert window? If you're running Windows Live Messenger, you'll get an alert popup in the bottom right of your screen when a new mail arrives. It's not semi-translucent though... Just the sender is shown in the sliding popup. I configured Windows Live Messenger to NOT load on Windows startup and exited it. I then sent another test e-mail to myself, hear the notification sound alert, but there was no sliding popup alert window notifying me of the new message. I thought Windows Live Mail (without Windows Live Messenger) showed a sliding popup for a new-mail alert. Maybe that was some other e-mail client because it doesn't work when I test it now. |

| | Re: Is there a new-mail alert window? I don't get this in WLM, but there is a nice popup in Outlook 2007. | | Re: Is there a new-mail alert window? Yes, the popups won't show unless Windows Live Messenger is also running and you're signed in to it. Thunderbird. 16MB to keep WLMessenger loaded just for the popups (since I don't need nor want a prattle client) is a bit steep in price just for a new-mail alert. Thanks for the update. |
