| | WLM Error 0x80004005 WLM only on 1 of my 4 computers started giving me the folllowing error message about 2 days ago: Unable to send or receive messages for the Yahoo account. An unknown error has occurred. Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80004005 Protocol: POP3 Port: 995 Secure(SSL): Yes I use WLM to get my email from 3 accounts, Hotmail, AOL mail, and Yahoo mail. It works as before with Hotmail, and AOL mail, but gives me the above error message with Yaho mail. AT&T is my ISP. I have 3 other computers at home. WLM works fine on the other computers and can download and send messages from Yahoo from them. Deleting all messages from Yahoo mail Inbox using Webmail did not help. Deleting the Yahoo account, and re-creating it on WLM did not help, updating to most recent version of WLM did not help, un-installing WLM, and then re-installing it did not help. Scanning Registery, and disabling Norton Antivirus did not help either. I can send messages on my Yahoo account from this computer, but can not download any. WLM works on my other computer as before perfectly. Any idea what to do now? |

| | Re: WLM Error 0x80004005 Is your anti-virus set to scan e-mail? As long as your anti-virus software is set to scan files as they are opened, scanning e-mail as it downloads or sends is unnecessary and prone to problems. With some anti-virus (and anti-spam) programs, simply disabling the e-mail scanning function doesn't really disable it. It simply tells the program not to flag any messages. It still processes all the messages and may still cause send/receive failures. What you may need to do is uninstall the anti-virus program, then reinstall it using a custom install option and unselect the e-mail scanning component for installation. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "TZ" <TZ@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B0E860C0-B9EB-4B48-9BDA-D02B0C666886@xxxxxx Quote: > WLM only on 1 of my 4 computers started giving me the folllowing error > message about 2 days ago: > > Unable to send or receive messages for the Yahoo account. Have you tried the suggestion to disable N360 scanning or temporarily disabling Autoprotect, open Windows Mail and retest ? - " do not think the issue is related to my Anti-virus program (Norto 360)" -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "TZ" <TZ@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B0E860C0-B9EB-4B48-9BDA-D02B0C666886@xxxxxx Quote: > WLM only on 1 of my 4 computers started giving me the folllowing error > message about 2 days ago: > > Unable to send or receive messages for the Yahoo account.
