need help with my mail

ok when there is a link on a web page I get this pop up message that says "A
website wants to open web content using this program on your computer". Then
underneath it, it says "This program will open outside of protected mode.
Internet Explorer's Proteced mode helps protect your computer. If you do not
trust this website, do not open this program." and undername it says Windows
host process (Rundell32) and for Publisher it says Microsoft Windows. If you
click the ok button it opens a tab in yahoo in Internet Explorer, and I have
to enter in my login crap for yahoo. Now it use to just send directly from
windows mail, but my kid was messing with the computer and now it doesn't how
can i change it back????
Thank you!

Re: need help with my mail

In XP you can rectify this using Set Program Access and Defaults from the
Start Menu.

Re: need help with my mail

Did your kid install Yahoo Messenger? That can change the mail client
default. Reset all the Windows Mail defaults:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

Incidentally, this newsgroup is dedicated to the Windows Live Mail program.
Windows Mail issues should be posted to:
