| | Windows Mail Annoyance Hi all I am having an anoyance with Windows Mail using IMAP Windows Mail first downloads Headers and then, at it's own pace, downloads the bodies. that's fine! The issue is if I select a message that I Know is SPAM (from the subject), and press delete, and if Windows Mail's Junk Mail filters also thinks it's SPAM, Mail moves that message and selects the next and of course the buffered delete goes to that message! So I either don't preview messages or wait for Mail to delete or not the message. Furthermore, if I have a bunch of messages selected and Mail moves the bottom one it extends the selection down! Arggg! This is almost on the same level of utter anoyance than Focus Stealing (there goes an Enter on an important system message which I will never know the contents or ooops the guy behind me just saw my very important password) .... feel a little better now .... Anyway, anyone knows of a way to instruct the Junk Mail filter to mark the message (gray it out or something) instead of moving ? (I doubt this behaviour is ever going to get fixed) looked for something, couldn't find it. I don't want to turn off the junk mail filter, it's quite aceptable Thanks |

| | Re: Windows Mail Annoyance Your posting properties indicate Windows Live Mail(WLM), but the message indicates WM/Windows Mail(Vista). | | Re: Windows Mail Annoyance It's still not clear in which application you're seeing the behaviour you describe. In WLMail, incoming messages can only be junk filtered after the body has downloaded (because body contents have to be assessed as well as headers). The obvious answer to your perceived problem is not to delete junk, but leave it in the junk folder where you can scan it at leisure and then use the little 'x' to empty the folder when you're satisfied that you don't want to keep anything in it. Junk mail will not display in the preview pane; if you're not sure whether a message there is junk or not, delete it - this will move it unread to your Deleted items folder. All you then have to do is scan that folder's unread messages to see whether it really was junk or not. If your question is actually about Windows Mail on Vista, you'd better ask again in the forum Winston pointed you to. Regardless of superficial resemblances in the two programs, they are not the same. I'm sorry, but I didn't understand your reference to 'focus stealing'. -- Noel "My Name" <myname@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:Or4nCcqMJHA.3744@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, > Thanks for the reply > I am using Windows Live Mail on Windows XP > I have a notebook with Vista and Vista Mail and they look the same > to me...
