| Guest | Outlook Express My MSN messanger was recently automatically updated and now all of my mail opens in Outlook express insted of MSN mail. Is there anyway to get the look back? I don't want to use Outlook Express for my MSN mail. I have a valid MSN Mail account, not hotmail. If I open Hotmail and type in my msn email address, the email work s just fine and displays in MSN mail, NOT Outlook express. Thanks StephanieH |

know how it works, in interaction with MSN Messenger, though. When I run Windows Live Messenger (I've upgraded from MSN Messenger), and use the mail button, even with my "bring your own email address" login, and my default email client set as Pegasus Mail, Windows Live Messenger invokes Windows Live Mail. I really don't have a system configuration that exactly matches yours. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum

| Guest | Re: Outlook Express Thanks for your response - the problem is I cannot get Windows Live Mail to be invoked. It is now defaulting to Outlook Express. Is there something I can do to change that? StephanieH "N. Miller" wrote:

| Guest | Re: Outlook Express It's unclear which application you are referencing as being automatically updated and the type of msn account. MSn Messenger or Windows Live Messenger - which version Windows Live Mail(was it installed) Does Msn Mail mean the web interface(now called Windows Live Hotmail)or MSn Explorer(software provided for use with an Msn Premium subscription) All Msn acccounts are Live ID accounts, just as all Hotmail.com and Live.com are LiveID accounts. All are accessible via the Windows Live Hotmail web interface. All accounts are 'Hotmail' type accounts, the only difference is the second part of your email address(@msn.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com) Is your valid msn Mail account a premium account ? Is your valid mns mail account a dialup or partner account(Qwest,Verizon etc) or a bring your own isp account[no partner] ? -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "StephanieH" <StephanieH@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:FCA68C2E-8612-44AA-909D-018D69F0175D@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Outlook Express HI I apoligize for not being more specific It appears that my son's account (MSN Messenger was updated with Windows Live Messenger and now all of his email is opened through Outlook express , which he does not want to use. Normally he would click on his MSN Messenger icon and have the ability to access his email messages in MSN Mail format. That seems to have changed in the last few days with the update of MSN Messenger to Window Live Messanger All of our MSN email addresses are setup through Qwest with @msn.com as opposed to @hotmail.com He and I are both is using Vista ( Ihave Vita Business - he has Vista Home) and IE 6 for OS and browser. Hopefully that makes more sense. Any assistance would be greatly apprciated. Thank you StephanieH "...winston" wrote:

| Guest | Re: Outlook Express Some of it makes sense, other information does not. Outlook Express is not an available email client on Vista. It is only available on Windows XP. IE6 is not available on Vista. It is only available for operating systems prior to Vista. Next time you click on an icon in Windows Live Messenger and a mail client opens, please look at the email client(clicking on Help/About may offer that information). Please verify what MSn Mail means(Hotmail, Msn Explorer) and what you mean by MSn Mail 'format'. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "StephanieH" <StephanieH@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B3D1B940-3683-489F-8319-02BE4FC57A5F@xxxxxx

computer; Windows Vista does not ship with MSOE, it ships with Windows Mail. I expect that what you think is MSOE is really Windows Mail. They do have a similar appearance and layout. Which email client is set as default on the affected system? I only have access to one computer with Windows Vista on it, and the owner does not want any IM applications installed on it, so I have no way to play with things. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum
