| | Email address changes when user selects Reply When a perosn is replying to an email I have sent from my Hotmail acount the email address is being changed to something other than my Hotmail address. The address it changes it to appears to be my cell phone number@xxxxxx. I have a Blackjack phone that I have attempted to access Hotmail on and suspect that somehow I added the phone number to my Hotmail settings and cannot find out where to go to remove it. I find it strange that it replaces the email address, regardless of the email platform the user is using to reply back to me. I can duplicate the issue in Hotmail and Outlook. |

| | Re: Email address changes when user selects Reply In your e-mail client you can configure a reply to address. If present, for messages that you send when someone replies it will use the reply to address rather than the from address. If you are sending from Windows Live Mail look in Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, General. If you are sending via the web interface, there will be a similar setting there. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Jason J" <Jason J@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:17819AAF-DB09-4E4D-9761-8F4AEA880E4F@xxxxxx Quote: > When a perosn is replying to an email I have sent from my Hotmail > acount the > email address is being changed to something other than my Hotmail > address. > The address it changes it to appears to be my cell phone > number@xxxxxx. > I have a Blackjack phone that I have attempted to access Hotmail on > and > suspect that somehow I added the phone number to my Hotmail settings > and > cannot find out where to go to remove it. | | Re: Email address changes when user selects Reply Check all your settings a. your account profile(registration name, display name(public and web) at account.live.com b. your email client c. Messenger Contacts(your own contacts mobile settings if in use) d. Hotmail web UI - Contacts/<select your entry>/Edit Contacts/Show All fields Could you elaborate on 'appears to be' ---it either is or isn't ? Additionally, does this occur on everyone replying to an email or just some(if the latter, they may have to edit their contact data for you on their end) -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Jason J" <Jason J@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:17819AAF-DB09-4E4D-9761-8F4AEA880E4F@xxxxxx Quote: > When a perosn is replying to an email I have sent from my Hotmail acount the > email address is being changed to something other than my Hotmail address. > The address it changes it to appears to be my cell phone number@xxxxxx. > I have a Blackjack phone that I have attempted to access Hotmail on and > suspect that somehow I added the phone number to my Hotmail settings and > cannot find out where to go to remove it.
