| | Scrolling 'jumping' issue I have a strange bug with WLM and I can't seem to find references about it, so I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this/knows of a fix? Steps for reproduction: 1) Click anywhere on a message (referred to as A) in the reading pane 2) Use the scroll wheel or the scroll bar to scroll down/up the list of messages in the message list 3) Click on one of the messages (referred to as B) in the Message list. At this point, Message B does not get selected and the list jumps back to the position of Message A in the list. I love WLM, but this bug is slightly irritating, and I've only noticed it in the most recent beta build (I think) Anyone had the same issue? Thanks! |

No. So you need to provide a lot more details. E.g. one scenario which might contribute to the probability of seeing this would be HTML E-mail messages which include scripting. FWIW I don't have any way of testing that case. For one thing I don't have an E-mail account set up on WLMail but even if I did I rarely use the Preview pane to read E-mail messages with, especially HTML, since I typically use the Read option Read all messages in plain text and then use Alt-Shift-H if necessary. Therefore, the message being scrolled more than likely would be in its own window, independent of the main application window. Quote: > > Thanks! |

| | Re: Scrolling 'jumping' issue Thanks for kindly taking the time to respond. - The strange thing is that it occurs for all emails across all my accounts. It is independent of whether the email in the reading pane is HTML (i.e. the same bug occurs when the message is plain text) - The scrolling bug ONLY happens when the message list is in "Two-Line view", whether or not the reading pane is above or to the left of the message list. - I would be happy to provide more details as you suggest. Could you indicate to me what type of info would be helpful Many many thanks, W@ "Robert Aldwinckle" wrote: Quote: > > "Warren" <Warren@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B12D1F18-76D2-498A-B728-6ED54AF5D40D@xxxxxx Quote: > > I have a strange bug with WLM and I can't seem to find references about it, > > so I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this/knows of a fix? > > > > Steps for reproduction: > > > > 1) Click anywhere on a message (referred to as A) in the reading pane > > 2) Use the scroll wheel or the scroll bar to scroll down/up the list of > > messages in the message list > > 3) Click on one of the messages (referred to as B) in the Message list. | | Re: Scrolling 'jumping' issue I didn’t even think about the two line view. When you clicked on a message, it became highlighted and shows in the Reading pane and most important, it makes the mouse and keyboard action (scrolling) apply to that pane. When you click in the Reading pane, the mouse and keyboard action moves to the Reading pane. Move the mouse back to the Message list and the mouse will scroll the Message list, but the keyboard still scrolls the Reading pane. In the two line view, the first mouse click back in the Message list puts the mouse and keyboard action back to the Message list. The second click selects another message. In the one line view, the first mouse click back in the Message list highlights that message and puts the mouse and keyboard action back to the Message list. So if you want to continue using the two line view, click twice to select another message or click, scroll, click. -- Ronald Sommer "Warren" <Warren@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:E1B4322E-3E9F-4954-9320-AA4F15AEC122@xxxxxx Quote: > Hello, > > - Version 14.0.5027.0908 > - Vista Ultimate > - IE8 Beta 2 > > Warren > > "Ron Sommer" wrote: > Quote: >> What version of WLM are you using? >> What is the operating system? >> What version of IE? >> >> I can't reproduce your bug. >> -- >> Ronald Sommer >> >> "Warren" <Warren@xxxxxx> wrote in message >> news:B12D1F18-76D2-498A-B728-6ED54AF5D40D@xxxxxx Quote: >> > I have a strange bug with WLM and I can't seem to find references about >> > it, >> > so I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this/knows of a fix? >> > >> > Steps for reproduction: >> > >> > 1) Click anywhere on a message (referred to as A) in the reading pane >> > 2) Use the scroll wheel or the scroll bar to scroll down/up the list of >> > messages in the message list >> > 3) Click on one of the messages (referred to as B) in the Message list. >> > At >> > this point, Message B does not get selected and the list jumps back to >> > the >> > position of Message A in the list. >> > >> > I love WLM, but this bug is slightly irritating, and I've only noticed >> > it >> > in >> > the most recent beta build (I think) >> > >> > Anyone had the same issue? >> > >> > Thanks! >> |

| | Re: Scrolling 'jumping' issue Thank you. I think that explains the reason for what I am experiencing very well. I just find it strange that the two-line view would behave differently to the one-line view.... Oh well... never mind.. the benefits of WLM for me far outweigh this minor disadvantage... Thanks for your time.
