| | Multiple emails - Help! I receive 2 different email address via Spamarrest filter service. When the email hits my WLM, it doubles...i.e. place a copy in each account, despite the fact that they were set up as different accounts. Why the doubling?? |

| | Re: Multiple emails - Help! How many mail accounts are setup in WLM (Tools, Accounts, Mail)? If you have two, are the settings the same at Properties, Servers for the the Incoming Server and User name? If so, they are the same server side account. If you have set to Leave a copy on the server on the Advanced tab and Include this account on the General tab, then bout WLM accounts will download all messages and you'll get duplicates. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Dan S" <DanS@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B16DF4FF-6A5A-4E9E-AB50-E329B1D20F8D@xxxxxx Quote: > I receive 2 different email address via Spamarrest filter service. > When the > email hits my WLM, it doubles...i.e. place a copy in each account, > despite > the fact that they were set up as different accounts. | | Re: Multiple emails - Help! I have a total of three accounts set up. 1) The first email address is from my webhosting service direct. 2) The second and third email addresses are linked to Spamarrest (filtering service) using the identical usernames for the incoming mail server. So the answer is yes. 3) So...I unchecked the "leave copy on" on server for both accounts. This eliminated getting duplicate emails....but 4) The email didn't go to the appropriate account, i.e. mail sent to account A appeared in account B's Inbox. Now what? I fell were getting close to solving this, Michael! | | Re: Multiple emails - Help! That Spamarrest is the the problem. WLM can't tell the accounts apart. When you check mail either WLM account could download messages from either of the two e-mail addresses. Is there any way to change how Spamarrest works so that each e-mail address gets a different user logon in your WLM settings? If not, I can give you a partial workaround. But it won't be quite what you want. Pick one of the two accounts to download all mail. Do this at Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, General. Have the Include this account box checked in the account to use for downloads and not in the other one. The Leave a Copy on server setting is optional. Then create a message rule for where the TO or CC contains the account not being used for downloads and move the message to the specified folder. There are a few problems with this - You are limited to the folders you can move the message to. You won't be able to select the Inbox in the desired account. But can use a user created folder. - If the sender used BCC, the message rule won't catch it and messages will stay in the downloading account. - Replies will default to the downloading account. You'll have to manually select the other account in the From drop down box. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Dan S" <DanS@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 5904269-D47E-4155-BD29-39ACBF44E388@xxxxxxQuote: > I have a total of three accounts set up. > > 1) The first email address is from my webhosting service direct. > > 2) The second and third email addresses are linked to Spamarrest > (filtering > service) using the identical usernames for the incoming mail server. > So the > answer is yes. > > 3) So...I unchecked the "leave copy on" on server for both accounts. > This > eliminated getting duplicate emails....but > > 4) The email didn't go to the appropriate account, i.e. mail sent to > account A appeared in account B's Inbox. > > Now what?
