I understand that if I sign up for hotmail plus it gives me access to pop
email for my live email account. My question is if I pay for the plus service
with hotmail will I be able to set it as imap and sync my folders as well on
my iphone? I phone support imap but will hotmail plus support it or will it
only suppport the pop service?

A hotmail plus account is available in http or pop3 protocol.
Hotmail Plus on an iPhone or iPod Touch is only pop3.

Creating a new hotmail plus account(Choose the Other option) on an iPhone or iPod Touch(provided current Apple software/updates
is/are installed on the Apple device)will automatically configure the account with the correct settings(pop3, smtp, SSL, ports,
authentication).
