| | Live Mail - Some "Deleted" items permanently deleted, not in Delet I just noticed this morning that some deleted messages simply "disappear", they don't go into any Deleted folders. I have verified this by doing a "Search in All e-mail" before and after a Delete operation on the mail. I can see it prior to the Delete, but not after. Most of my mail is also governed by Rules, so I would expect the Deleted item to show up in the corresponding Deleted folder. I do see other current Deleted items. This appears to happen when I delete messages as I am reading them. Here is my flow: 1. Using the Unread Quick View, open an email 2. Delete the message 3. Can't find it in Deleted I am suspicious that this may have something to do when Rules are applied. Any thoughts? Thanks |

| | Re: Live Mail - Some "Deleted" items permanently deleted, not in D Yes, they are all set to "Show All". Am I correct that if this message has a Rule that should move it to a Storage folder, the deleted item should go in the Deleted folder under Storage folders? To be thorough I check all the other deleted folders as well. I do see other Deleted items that are affected by the same Rule in the Deleted folder under Storage folders, which makes sense to me. I'll try to do some more testing tonight to see if I can narrow it down. I'm hoping this is just a case of "Stupid User Trick", just need to figure out what the Trick is do I quit doing it! | | Re: Live Mail - Some "Deleted" items permanently deleted, not in D Well, chalk THIS one up to "stupid user" tricks, sometimes I just royally annoy myself. So, here is what I am sure is going on. First problem, stop thinking of QuickView as anything but a "view", I have now drummed THAT through my thick skull. Second problem, when you "open" an item and then delete it, the "number unread" in Deleted does NOT go up, as it shouldn't of course. Third problem, remember that when the Deleted folder is sorted "By Date" it is the Date of the Message that counts, not "When it was deleted". Darn, I hate it when I'm a bozo, but even worse when I do it in public. Sheesh, what a Doofus ... a true DOH moment.
