Installation of Windows Live wave 3 beta products

A couple of days ago I installed the new beta products on my machine (I am
trusting, I know.....) The installation resulted in all of my desktop icons
and files being removed (could not find the files on my system anywhere), my
wall paper being replaced, my Groove account being deleted and, when my
machine restarted, it acted almost as if it was a new installation of the OS.
Had I known that would happen, I could have been prepared and saved all of my
files. I was able to do a system restore to the previous day's check point
and everything was reset as it should. However, when I ran Windows Live mail,
it kept quitting. I had to repair the program for it to work.

I still would like to the the Betas but is there any way to do so without
everything being messed up as it was?

I have also tried contacting live support but their site is "temporarially
down for maintenance."

Was it an installation on a Mesh machine?

Yes, I do have Live Mesh installed on that machine. I presume from that
question, that would be the cause and I should uninstall mesh before
installing the beta?

I guess my next question would be could you help me understand the why
behind it... Thank you for any help!

Only if you were confused about which machine you were installing the Live beta into... ; )

The question was more facetious than knowing.

Good luck
